Project Wren
An ode to humanity
Wren is a demonstration of the folly of human conceits. We are a polemic against the overwhelmingly negative mass media: an antidote to despondency. We communicate all that goes right in this world, the victories humanity brings home, and the ethos of civilization. In all, we endeavour to provide honest, comprehensive, and quick journalism focused on the triumphs of mankind.
We believe that lucidity founders in metaphor and that hope is only resolved in a work of art. We are an experiment in hope and an attempt at restoring faith.
Welcome to Wren. Dum spiro, spero.
Wren.
Consider the grandest of things humankind may achieve. Think of ambient-temperature superconductivity, of eradicating poverty, of space revolutions, and of all that is yet to come. All of this, for what? For a civilization that celebrates an endless fight? Think of the strife, the suffering, and the misery shared by our species. What need do we have to make our lives more difficult?
The mass media already feeds on the inherent negativity bias amongst us. It is easy to focus on such defeats. It is easy to look at what is broken and what is not working; Wren is an effort to look beyond these tragedies, to remind us that there is some good in civilization, and to see our collective triumphs in all their glory.
Experience the human spirit.
Preface.
Wren emerges as a symbol of spring's arrival, carrying with it a message of renewal and hope. The wren's significance transcends its small stature, reminding us that even the most unassuming beings can evoke profound perspective. With its arrival, the spring shifts our gaze towards the positive, fostering a view that amplifies the beauty and progress in our world.
We are an effort to beat negativity bias — a cognitive shortcoming that results in negative stimuli having a more significant impact on psychological states than positive ones. In focusing on humanity's victories, we aim to communicate the other half of journalism and provide a platform to news that is neglected. Thank you for reading Wren.
